Good morning Delts,

I hope that all of you remembered that today is Mother's Day, but if you forgot, there is still time.

Let's see what's been happening in the world of EY. We had our golf outing on April 26th and the attendence wasn't all that great, which is kind of what we expected with the 40th coming up this fall. We had 2 alums (Hartsy and myself), 2 undergrads (Hops and Nick Aylward), and 2 guests. So we split up into 2 groups for our round. Hartsy and Nick in one group and Hops and me in the other. Hops tried valiently to keep our group in the hunt, but unfortunately his handicap (me) was too much for him to overcome so we lost. But it was a great day, the sun was shining and it was warm so we all enjoyed ourselves. Next year the golf weekend will be the same time as this year, the last weekend in April. Hope to see you all out playing then.

Next weekend marks the end of another school year. The college commencement (the 171st) will be on May 17th. That is when the newest members of EY's alumni association will officially be welcomed. So for now, let me just offer my congratulations to the new graduates to be. Good luck in your future, may it be all you hope and dream it will be.

Sunday May 4th marked the newest renewal of a time honored EY tradition; Ferg Fest '08. About 34 brothers and friends attended the annual wrap up of the college year and final break before finals week. As usual everyone had a great afternoon. I was invited, but unfortunately I had to miss due to having to work. I think it might be fun to see if there are any good stories to be shared about Ferg Fests of the past. If you have anything to share, send me a note and I'll share it with everyone. To all of the undergrads, have a great summer. We'll see you in the fall.

The undergraduates have published a new issue of the Protimoi. Check it out at the chapter web site - http://www.marietta.edu/~delts/ Nice job, as usual.

Let's see the notes and news that I have gotten since the last email. Two teaser bits (to make you go read the Protimoi) Hunter Jonsson announced his engagement and the undergraduates won the newly reintroduced BattleAx.

James Mason sent the following challenge;

I've got a challenge for Todd Spence. Get more of your pledge trainees to attend than your pledge class. I know he trained the fine pledge class of 1980. I'd be interested in where Tom McVey is also and Bruce "West, by God, smile when you say it, Virginia" Goldfarb and Bill Cruse. James

How about it Todd? Care to try? I asked James if he was going to be able to be here, and here is his response:

Rick: I am considering it and have been in contact with a few of the 1980s brothers (Dean Didato, Steve Bennett and Adam Pyles), but cannot commit at this point. Todd is one of the guys that came to mind early on after receiving your first emails. I think everyone's pledge trainer makes a significant impact on their fraternity and college lives. I'm glad to hear he's out there and will keep up with the 1980's guys to try and drum up some attendees. James

I agree with you James, the pledge trainer is probably the one person who either starts a new member out on the right path, or who doesn't. I think that we have been pretty fortunate over the years in having pretty strong pledge trainers.

Joe Kirby sent me the following note. I heard from Bob Exten a day or so ago, Joe. He's coming. How about the rest of you, have you contacted any of your long missing friends and brothers and made plans to get back together? Our 40th anniversary would be a perfect time.

Rick, I will be traveling back in space time to attend the 40th reunion. Please reserve 2 spots at the reception dinner. I told DeVito and Exten I wouldn't make the trip back unless they showed - John committed, X10 said he was coming, We'll see. Good work on getting Roger Coffman's email - I sent him an email -
haven't heard anything. I guess we'll see on that one too.

Here is the note I got from Bob Exten, so there will be at least one group of "3 Amigos" in attendance.

Rick-Please add me and my wife to the list of attendees. Could you also please send me Bob Ferguson's address,or do i send the check to the House?
Thanks-Bob Exten.

For any others who needs Fergies address, it is: Bob Ferguson, **removed for privacy reasons** The cost for the weekend is $50 per person. Please make the check payable to: Crescent Colony of Marietta, Inc.

Matt Dole sent me the following note, unfortunately we missed making connections while he was in town, sorry Matt. But he did point out something that I need to correct, and perhaps some others do also. When you change your email address, please send me a short note so I can correct it in my files and the chapter can make the correction also. Thanks in advance for that!

Hey Rick - I'm going to be in Marietta tonight and tomorrow. I'm not going to play golf because, well I suck. But I also have a lot of folks to visit since I'm just a visitor now. Anyway, I'd love to get dinner Saturday night if there's a group that's going to go after the outing.Who's coming in that you've heard from? My cell is**removed**. Let me know what's going on post golf outing and I'll try to catch up with you guys. By the way, the Delt email list on the website still has your comcast address... I sent this email there first and had to track down your email from one of the updates rather than the email list. Thanks,Matt Dole

Speaking of address corrections, I got this one from Ashley Woolam; **removed** That's about all I have for this time.
