Oops!

I forgot to include one piece of news I got. I also screwed up an address.

Here is the corrected address: Michael.Tita@saic.com Sorry Michael...

The piece of news I forgot to include is from Lance Koved.

By the way, we've sold the house and I am semi retiring and moving to Boynton Beach Fl next month. I will commute to the office in PA once or twice a month. We are tired of the cold weather.

Lance

Good luck Lance, may your retirement be very happy! Now you have no excuse to miss our 40th! I sure know what you mean about the snow and cold weather.

There you go, I guess that is REALLY all I have. Enjoy! Rick

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #22

Good afternoon everyone,

Well it is just over 2 weeks until Homecoming. How many of you will I see there? Hope it is a lot. Be sure to check out the Delt web site for the agenda of events. The address, for those who don't know it, is: http://www.marietta.edu/~delts/ They have quite a bit lined up to keep us occupied. The dates again are Oct. 13th -15th. Just for us the price of gas is coming down, it is reported to be $2.28 in Marietta. No excuses!

Have you all checked out the Delt Blog? http://mcdeltalumni.blogspot.com/ Shawn Selby wrote a blog about his trip to Marietta, check it out. Thanks to a couple of brothers, we now have all the emails except for #1, 2, 3. They are in the hands of Shawn, and he is supposed to get them added. I'm sure he will, when he has a minute. If he can't figure it out, we will get the Undergrad webmaster to help us out. Anyone who has the first 3, please send them to me. Thanks.

Speaking of the Blog, I have a survey for you all. Do you prefer to get these things as an email, or would you prefer that I just post them on the Blog? Let me know what you think. My first thought is to keep sending them directly to you, and then posting them on the site. That way I know you get them.

Let's see what is going on with the Chapter. The undergrads have pledged 13 new men, with a goal of 15. They hope to have reached that goal by the end of the semester. The chapter is very happy with the quality of men that pledged. They are involved in the campus community and interested in the things that DTD is involved in. They should fit in well with the chapter and help in taking it to a higher level. Good luck guys! Get us the Hugh Shields in time for 2008!

Unfortunately, not all of the men returned for the school year so the chapter size was down to about 40 before pledging. And this is a big year for the seniors so the pledge class was sorely needed.

I heard from some alums this time so I'll pass along the news for you. Please keep us in mind when something happens in your life! I received an email from a new alum with his address: Michael Tita; michael.tita@saic.com Welcome Michael. He picked up my message on the MC message board.

Tim Cox sends his regrets about not being able to come to homecoming. That's OK Tim, just be sure to keep 2008 open for our 40th! Good luck on the play, Tim. Break a leg! (Isn't that what they say in theatre?) Here is what he had to say:

Thanks for your updates and for the nod to the ol' website. Sadly, I will unable to attend Homecoming this year because of a new play that I'm working on, but will try to make it back later in the year. (Anything to get back to annoy Matt Dole). Thanks again. Keep the updates coming.

Fraternally,

Tim Cox' 99

I got the following message from Jess Raines, and he got me thinking (shut up Shawn, I do from time to time!) I have had to break up my mailing list into 2 sections because we are getting too big (over 115 names). I should print a list of all the alums I have, so you all can have a copy of our address list. I have also noticed that the Delt Alumni address list has some names that I don't have, so check them out. The only problem is, I'm not sure how to do that. So I will have to get some help, which I will. Here is his message:

I think I sent this before but did not see him in the list. Please add Todd Spence MC-SPENCET@seovec.org to your e-mail list.

I am forwarding this message to him.

Thanks
Jess

That's all I have this time. Hope to see you in Marietta in October. And be sure to keep DTD in mind for 2008, our 40th year on campus.

Have a good week!

Shawn Selby: Visit to the Chapter, Sept. 15-17

Sunday, September 24, 2006

Hi All.

I had occassion to go to Marietta for my 36th 25th birthday last weekend, and while in town I visited the Shelter and spent time with the Undergrads.

Now before you start to think that spending my birthday with a bunch of college students many a few years younger than me is a little, well, "creepy," let me just say two things:

1. Going to Marietta was not my original plan.
2. I did not intend to do much more than a couple of quick "pop ins" at the Shelter.

My original plan was spend a four-day weekend in Toronto, which is a mere 2.5 hour drive from where I live. However those plans had to get spiked when I was unable to get appropriate hotel accommodations owing to the fact that the Toronto International Film Festival had the termerity to be going on the same weekend as my birthday.

After considering alternative destinations, I put Marietta on the table, even though I would going there a month later for Homecoming. There's just something about Marietta ... I enjoy going back, even if I don't set foot on campus. I always have a great time in the Mid-Ohio Valley, and I don't feel I get back enough. And having both Friday and Monday off that weekend provided an opportunity for me to justify the 6.5 hour drive.

So Thursday afternoon I made my decision to go to Marietta and I emailed a few friends in Marietta, plus a couple of Undergrads, to warn them of announce my arrival.

Now I had not planned to spend much time at the Shelter or with the Undergrads, but the response I got from them led to me spending a lot of time with them over the weekend. I do not regret it; I had a great time. And I think they did, too.

The Chapter had just wrapped up Rush week on Thursday night. They had pledged 13 men (as of Sunday, Sept 17). The Chapter had a goal of 15. They felt they would meet that goal this past week and expect to add another 5 or 6 before the semester is out.

After I arrived in Marietta early Friday evening, I had been invited to go with the Chapter at 10 p.m. to the Mountaineer Family Restaurant in Parkersburg. Now, I really love that place, and had been going there (usually after drinking way too much) during my Undergrad years. And I introduced plenty of other Delts and friends to the joys of Mountaineer dining.

Now when I had gone back to Marietta for the Delt Alumni Golf Outing Weekend, I was pleased to find out that the Chapter did weekly brotherhood outings to the "'Neer," so in some ways I feel responsible for that tradition.

So I readily accepted that invitation.

Now as many times as I've eaten there, I can say this visit was unparalleled. That's because, including me, there were about 40 Delts that had descended on the unsuspecting good folks at the 'Neer.

Needless to say, they couldn't accommodate all of us together. So we got split up among the three sections of the restaurant. I made my way into the glass-encased Smoking section, followed by the Undergrad smokers. (Yes, quite a few of them smoke. Get over it.) We were eventually joined by nonsmoking Delts who had nowhere else to sit. Brave souls that they were, placing themselves in a glass-encased room with me nearby able to smoke ...

Anyway, a very enthusiastic Pledge named T.J., who is from China (People's Republic, I presume), was going around to all the Delt tables taking his picture with everyone. When he got to the table I was at, which included Undergrads Scott Dettra, Josh Argento and Andy Byers, T.J. looked at me and the following conversation happened:

T.J. to Shawn: "I don't know you. Are you a Sophomore?"

Shawn to T.J.: "Yes, I am. Let's go with that."

Scott, Josh and Andy were very much amused by this exchange between the Pledge and the Alumnus. A little TOO amused, if you ask me.

And even though this happened just hours before I turned 36 25, T.J. unknowningly gave me the best birthday present ever.

Well that's the only story I will tell from that weekend. If you want to know more, get your butts back for Homecoming and ask the Undergrads to tell you the rest.

But I will share one more update from the Chapter. I attended their Sunday evening Chapter meeting (hoping to see Fergie, but he was out of town). This was their first Chapter meeting with Pledges and the Chapter room was almost at capacity.

They elected their Homecoming King candidate that night. Bearing the Delt standard will be John "Goose" Kitson, a fifth-year senior.

He's under a bit of pressure. The Delt candidate has been crowned King the past three Homecomings. Goose, and the Chapter, would like to see the House retain the crown a fourth year.

But what was interesting about this is that Goose had won a contested election. The Chapter was deciding among initially four, then three, seniors, all of whom it seemed were popular enough on campus to be a viable candidate. And by viable I mean capable of winning.

This was much different than back in my days in which our candidates had to be roped into accepting the role.

Goose should be proud that he won. But the others who had been considered should be proud, too. For their ability to contend speaks volumes about them. And about the Chapter.

Hope to see you all at Homecoming this year, and at the 40th next year,

Shawn "Revisionist History Sluggo" Selby '92 '03

Hello guys,

I really am proud to be writing this email. For I have an announcement to make. My email campaign has taken on a new life and a new place in the internet.

Thanks to Shawn Selby. We now have our own blog, at blogspot.com. The address is: http://mcdeltalumni.blogspot.com/ I hope that everyone will bookmark it and check it out from time to time. Comments are certianly welcome and can be posted on the site. (I'm not sure how it works, but I suspect that comments can be added to the main blog for brothers enjoyment. Or will be, one way or another!)

I intend to ask Hunter to see if the chapter will post a link to our blog on the chapter web site. That would be really nice I think. What do you say Hunter? Will you pose that question to the chapter, and get it done if the brothers approve? Thanks!

This does bring up a request however. While I know that my writing is deserving of a Pulitzer Prize, I seem to have deleted several of the early emails. If any one has managed to save them please forward them to me, or Shawn (he might be the better choice, since I'm pretty stupid about these things) sselby@crain.com . That way we can make the blog complete.

Our thinking was that any new brother that we find and add to our list, doesn't have the enjoyment (???) of reading the earlier emails. A heartfelt thanks to you for sending them back to me!

Now, lets see what is happening in the world of EU. Rush is ending today, with the extending of bids. Below is a list of the chapters rush activities. I will post the number of bids extended and accepted the next time. Hopefully the chapter got a bunch of quality guys, and I'm sure they did.

Rush events:

o Mon – 5-7 Cookout in Hermann Bowl

o Tues – 8-10 Rush Journey – wear dress pants and a button up shirt, tie optional (do not wear your pin if you do not wear a tie

o Wed – 8-10 Bonfire in Hermann Bowl

o Thurs – Bids handed out from 7 - 8

Matty K was elected Senior Senator to the college Student Senate. Congratulations to Matty. So the Delts are even better represented on campus.

Fergie told the chapter:

"Homecoming coming up – make sure to let alumni know asap so they can work it into their schedule."

I hope that they take that seriously, but remember, you got the dates here. Oct. 13-15. I hope to see you there.

Please send me your comments on how your life is progressing, and anything else you would like to share with the guys. As usual, please pass this on to any brother who isn't getting it.

And remember, our 40th anniversary as a chapter is in 2008! Make your plans. My brother Jim is planning on coming (I keep telling him he is gonna be there!) and Darrell Pritchard (my big brother) is getting used to the idea (I have an ally there, his wife!)

Have a good week,

Rick Neel '73

P.S. I don't know if I ever included this, but Tim Cox, one of our brothers, has a web site. If I never posted it before, here it is: http://www.timothyjcox.com/

Hello everyone,

Well here we are in September only a little over a month from homecoming. For those of you who don't know, or don't remember it is the weekend of October 14th and 15th. So mark your calendars and try to make it!

For those of you that have mentioned to me that you enjoy the ritual of the chapter, there is some good news. Sunday evening the 15th there is ritual scheduled for one of the pledges. I got to attend an activation ceremony last April and enjoyed it very much. I found that after all these years the ritual meant more to me and the brothers who presented it did an excellent job. If travel time allows you, I hope you will attend.

I have a new address for Chad Showen, those of you who know him, make note of it. He isn't sure how much longer his MC address will hold. Chad, I am sending this to both of your addresses, let me know that I got it right please. Here it is: Chad_Showen@yahoo.com. For any other recent grads who I still have your MC address, please send me an updated one (and DTD/EU also!)

I received an email from Chris Devine '04 (or is it '05 since you graduated in December?). And he wanted me to let you all know that Tyler Johnson recently got married ... but I'll let him tell you himself, as well as what he is doing with his life:

Rick,

This is Chris Devine alum of Dec 04. I am going to send a quick reply so that you can know I really do enjoy your updates and because everytime I think of doing it, I forget.

Anyway I'm up in Cleveland working for American Greetings as a Graphic Designer and Server at good ol' Red Lobster on the weekends. I saw that you mentioned Tyler Johnson who I am good friends with and just attended his wedding (which seemed like one big Delt function), so make sure you tell him congrats.

Anyway I look forward to the next update and thanks again for them, they are great.

Chris Devine '04

Thanks for the "attaboy" Chris, and thanks for letting everyone know what your doing.

A while ago, I was reading the Marietta Times online and came across an article about MC. It is about the leadership program and Bob Petersons upcoming visit. Seems as if several Delt undergrads are involved with Bob's program. Here is the link to the article, if you're interested. http://mariettatimes.com/news/story/new88_830200680322.asp.

I guess that is all I have this time. As usual, pass this along to any brother that you are in contact with that isn't getting it, and ask them to get in touch with me. Let me know what is happening in your life, so I can pass it along. And I'll see you all at homecoming, where we can root MC on to the Alonzo Stagg Bowl (as I write this MC is 1-0).

Have a good week.

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #19

Hello everybody,
Hope that all of you had a great summer! And now that school is back in session, I thought that I'd send another note. Like always, any news you have to share with your brothers, let me know and I'll pass it along.

I have a couple of new names to add to the list; Tyler Johnson and Tim Parsons. I posted a note on the alumni message board at the college and got 2 responses.

Welcome guys. If you are in touch withany brothers, pass this along to them and ask them to get in touch with me. I'd like to get them added to the mailing list.

I just got home from vacation and had the opportunity to stop by the chapter house (I didn't think that anyone would be there yet, butI was pleasantly surprised). I ran into Brian Ashton, the chapter Rush Chairman and we had a chance to talk for an hour or two. I sure enjoyed the visit and hope that Brian did also.

Here is what I learned:

The chapter this year is very involved in the student government of the campus, almost every office on campus is held by a Delt, most of the RA's (all of the Freshman RA's) are Delts, and several Delts are involved in the Leadership program. That is the reason that there were several of the guys on campus. They were involved in freshman orientation (is that a rush advantage or what?!)

The college this summer spent some money and time doing work on the house. They replaced all of the mattresses for the guys (as I remember the beds, that is a huge thing!) and replaced the floor tile in the bathrooms and kitchen. It looked really nice. Brian told me that last summer, the college removed a bathtub and put in another shower stall also. My comment was, "what do guys need with abathtub?"

The chapter has about 20 seniors graduating this year, so they need a good sized pledge class just to replace themselves. DTD International has a goal for the chapter of 25 men. Hopefully they can get 25 great guys to help the chapter continue to improve. Brian told me that at Karnea, he learned fromthe Chapter Consultant that EU is under consideration for a Hugh Shields award!

Hopefully they will deserve the honor.

The freshman class at the college this year is in the 480-500range! That's a huge freshman class, however it is apparently 2/1 women to men. What a terrible thing that is!! Sure would have been nice to have those odds when I was an undergrad.

Marietta College is a "hot spot" campus wide, so if you are inMarietta and need to get online, go to the college!

While I was in Columbus, I got an opportunity to have dinner with Randy "Awk" Williams, a friend from DTD and high school. Of course we spent most of our time talking about high school, but we did discuss my prowess on the golf course. Randy said that he couldn't believe that I was a superstar and was going to come play next spring at our annual golf outing. Ha! I'll show you, Awk. Bring it on!

He tells me that his kids (3 sons) are doing well and like all of us, he is very proud of them. One is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan and spent a year in Paris teaching English. In order to do this, he had to spend 6 months learning French, which he didn't know when he took the job! His middle son is an accomplished woodworker, whose speciality is kitchen cabinets on remodels and new homes. All designed and made by hand. His youngest is still searching for what he wants to do with his life, like a lot of us at that age.

Randy has committed to joining us for the chapter's 40th anniversary, hopefully all of you are making plans. It is in 2008 (bet you all know that by now :-) ).

Homecoming this year is the weekend of October 13 -15th. Markyour calendars and come on by to the house and join us. That's all Ihave this time, drop me a line and let me know what's going on with you.

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #18

Hello everybody,

Sorry that it has been so long since I have written but what the heck, it's summer! Hope that all of you are having a good one, enjoying the time with your family and friends. I have been, and am enjoying my summer.

Let's see what has been happening. I guess that this email isn't going to be so much about DTD, but about MC. It has been a pretty good year for our alma mater, the baseball team won the Div III World Series for the first time since Coach Schaly died. I listened to the final game on MariettaOnline.com where it was broadcast live. Pretty exciting I thought. If you are interested, you might check the site out, I believe that they broadcast a lot of MC's games (all sports). Then I read an article in the Marietta Times (online edition) about the reliever in that game, Mike DeMark, he signed a contract to play professionally. The part of the article that I found interesting though, was the comment that said that MC was one of the smallest schools in the NCAA division III. I had no idea that was the case.

The next thing that was pretty special this year is that MC won the Dad Vail in Philadelphia. The big race, the mens varsity 8. Way to go MC. It was a pretty special spring for Marietta.

Now for some news about DTD. In the issue of the Marietta College Trailblazer that I just received, at commencement Jordan Herrick (the immediate past president of EU received the Adair Prize. I don't remember what that prize is for, but I know that it is pretty impressive. Perhaps Jordan can write and let us all know what that prize signifies and how he won it. I would like to extend my congratulations to Jordan on a job well done.

Then in the most recent issue of The Rainbow there are a series of articles concerning the value of diversity in growing the fraternity. There are 2 articles printed there by EU undergraduates.

I just got home from visiting my Mother in Florida and while I was there, I had the opportunity to see Al Morrison '74 and his wife Patti. Both are doing very well and enjoying living in the warmth of Florida. Al has stepped down from being the CFO for his company and is now managing an office complex in St Petersburg and playing a lot of golf. He tells me that he has won the last two club championships, though he hasn't managed to get a hole in one yet (but his sister in law did!). Al (and his wife) tell me that he is planning on being in Marietta in 2008 for our 40th. And if you should happen to be in the Tampa area, be sure to give them a call.

A request for you all (actually 2), if you are in contact with Matt Joy or Jason Jianella please have them contact me with a correct address, the one that I have from them hasn't gotten through since February and I am going to have to delete them from the list. Also, lately, my posts haven't gotten through to Shawn Selby for some reason. So if you are in contact with him, please forward this on to him.

A quick reminder, at homecoming this year. Bob Peterson will be on campus for his leadership conference period. And the chapter 40th reunion will be in 2008. Make your plans now.

Have a great summer, drop me a line when you can.

Rickus Interruptus: A note to the Chapter about Alumni Weekend from Shawn Selby '92

Dear Brothers:

I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you all how much I enjoyed the Spring Alumni Weekend!

I am so proud of you all and so proud to know you all!

You all are a great group of young men, and more importantly, a great group of Delts!

I would Rush Delt all over again.

Your Ritual team obviously has worked hard to take the Delt ceremonies to a new level. The Rite of Iris on Friday night and the Ritual on Sunday morning was the best I have ever seen them done. And that’s high praise, because Michael Moffitt and Dan Castelli from my years were just incredible with ceremonies. But you’ve topped them.

(The coloured sashes for Rite of Iris are a great touch. There’s also other things during the Ritual that were outstanding, but I dare not mention in open communication).

I also want to tell you now what I was unable to on Sunday: Asking me to fill in for Fergie was a singular honor I will never forget. I do not feel worthy, but the words of what I was required to express continue to weigh heavily on my heart and in my mind. It is one thing to hear them, quite another to have to say them. Thank you for letting me do that.

Your Formal was well-done and tasteful. The singing of “Delta Shelter” at the end along with the cheer was incredible to experience.

I also appreciated very much being invited back to the Shelter afterward to hang out with you all. It was great being back in my old room, doing the same things I used to and hearing some of the same songs.

And I’m so glad that the outings to the Mountaineer I would lead on the weekends have evolved into a Chapter activity. I would have probably gone to the Mountaineer before I left Marietta, but it was so much better being able to go there with you all.

A strength of the spring weekend vs. Homecoming is that it gives us alumni time to focus on you all instead us of trying to see as many people in for the weekend that we can. And I think it works better for you all, too. You all didn’t have your own campus events competing with “Delt time.”

As such, I was able to not only meet most of you all, but to spend time getting to know many of you all.

What struck me the most was that in many of you I could see either a physical resemblance or a spiritual likeness to Delts from my time. Scott Dettra reminded me of my Little Brother, Jimmy Long. Mark Hirschfeld reminded me of my Big Brother, Gary Hritz. Andy Byers seems to be the reincarnation of Jeff DeWerth. Dave Borrelli could be a new and improved Tracey Howard. Craig Sundstrom’s handling of the meeting recalled Barrie Yochim’s presiding skills. Ashley Wollam evoked memories of Greg Manko. Hunter Jonsson could be equal parts Mike Porath, Graham Cochran and Chris Kurtz.

I could go on, but you all are not those people. You are yourselves, your own Delts. But because I could see “my” brothers in so many of you all, that means Epsilon Upsilon still is picking the same type of quality individuals who have what it takes to become Good Delts.

That, along with the fact that approximately one in four of you all are my Little Brother descendants, makes me very happy.

Again, thank you for a wonderful weekend.

In Brotherhood,
Shawn Selby ’92

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #17

Hello everyone,

I made it back from Marietta and the golf outing.

There were only 7 of us that played, but we all had a good time and really enjoyed the weather. Especially after last year when we had to suffer through the rain and freezing cold. It was a great day for golf. In fact 3 of the guys decided to play another 18 at a different course. (Not me though, I'm much too smart for that kind of nonsense!)

There were 2 groups at the course, 1st was made up of Drew Kern, Fergie, and Chris Goebel, and the 2nd had me, Matt Dole, Mike Porath, and Hartsy. The 1st team won the match, they were 7 under par while my team finished 3 over.

Of course you have to keep in mind that my team was operating under a severe handicap ... me. I lost my notes of what happened during the game, and all I have were the happenings on my 4 some. What ever newsworthy things came from the other group I'll report IF! I hear them.

About the only thing that I recall from our group (aside from my misques, that I have somehow forgotten) was the record setting drive that Matt Dole hit. It was -18 inches. That's right, the drive went backwards. (Sorry, Matt, couldn't resist!)

On Friday night, the chapter had the Rite of Iris for it's spring pledge class and the report I got was that it was very good, I didn't have the opportunity to see it.

Then on Sunday morning the chapter initiated 4 men from it's spring class. They changed the time of the initiation from Sunday night to 11:00 morning so that the alumni could attend. I thought that was extremely considerate of the undergrads.

The ceremony was very well done, and all of the ritual had been committed to memory. I was impressed, and even though I hadn't heard it in mmaannyyy years, I found that some of it came back to me. Thanks guys for an enjoyable morning.

The alums that made it to the initiation are Jess Raines, Shawn Selby and myself. Congratulations to the new members.

Help the chapter climb to a higher level of success!

For the alumni who pledged money for The Delt Pledge. The chapter initiated 4 men during the spring. I gave my check for $40.00 to the chapter. So feel free to send your check in, better make it pretty quick though, the semester is about over.

Speaking of the semester being about over, I have the pleasure of welcoming 4 men to the ranks of EU alumnihood. 3 men graduated and one is transferring. Welcome guys! They are Jordon Herrick, Jeff Houston, and Chad Showen, our graduating seniors. James Kane is transferring, so while he is still an undergrad, he is now an alumnus for EU.

Guys, when you get settled in the next stage of your life, be sure to keep us aware of your current email address. And remember to come back often, but especially in 2008!

I had the opportunity to talk to Randy (Awk) Williams while I was in Marietta, he told me that he had hoped to play golf with us, but he had to take his niece to her prom on Saturday.

Sorry you didn't get the chance to play Awk, but it was sure nice to talk to you!

One last thought for you. On the airplane going to Ohio I thought about men wanting to join the fraternity, but not having the money to pay thier initiation fees. I think that it would be a real shame to lose a good man for that reason. So here is my thought, perhaps we alums could set up a fund to help needy brothers pay for their initiation. I see this fund as being self renewing by having the member sign a promisary note to repay the loan and a small amount of interest. My feeling is that a decision to make this loan should be made by the chapter advisor and an alumni committee, with input from the chapter. What do you think about this? Let me know, and maybe we can develop some dialouge about it.

That's all I have for this time, enjoy your week.

Rick Neel '73

PS I have a link for Karnea for anyone that is interested in going. It is in Indianapolis this year.

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #16

Hello everyone,

This is going to be a short message today.

I just wanted to letyou all know that the golf outing is really soon. It is slated forthe 22nd of April. Have you made your plans yet? Hope to see you there.

The reason that I'm writing is to let you ask any questions thatyou may have for the members of the undergraduate chapter, or for theHouse Corp. via Hartsy, and finally for Fergie.

If you have a question that you would like answered, send it to me and I will take it to the chapter and get you an answer.

I will beleaving here on Wednesday morning the 19th, so please have the questions to me by Tuesday.

In the meantime, I hope that all of you have a Happy Easter.

Hope to see you in Marietta, and remember that in 2008 we willbe celebrating our 40th anniversary.

See you then, for sure.

Rick Neel '73

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #15

Hello everyone,

I can't believe that I have written 15 of these things now.

I just started out not knowing what I wanted to accomplish other than trying to make EU's 40th anniversary something that we can all look back on with happiness.

That, of course, is still the primary goal. But this thing seems to have taken on a bit of life on its own, and for that I have to thank all of you. Please keep forwarding this to any brother who's name you don't see in the address list and encourage them to contact me so I can add their address to our database.

And now on to what little I have to say today.

The new issue ofthe Protimoi is now posted on the Delt web page. You can find that at: www.marietta.edu/~delts

Check it out, and contact the chapter with what you would like to see included in the Alumni section of the website. As Hunter says, it is for us and unless we tell them what we want to see, they have no idea.

The golf outing is fast approaching, it will be the end of this month (April 22), and if you are interested in participating, please contact Matt Dole; mattdole@gmail.com or Hartsy; jhartshorn@morralcompanies.com to make your reservations. The fee for the day is $50.00 and that includes the round of golf, the cart and prizes (whatever that means!).

I'm sure that I will win the prize forthe worst golfer so none of you have a chance at that one.

Also that weekend, the chapter will be doing some ritual work including the Rite of Iris and a formal meeting will be that weekend for those interested in attending. Also it is the weekend of the undergrad spring formal, and I understand that we are invited to attend.

I received an email "brother update" which I will include for you and an updated email address for a brother. Both follow.

Lee Boveroux has a new address, please make note. glboveroux@comcast.net.

The note I got is from Rich Wolf, it is good to hear from you Rich, hope to see you soon!

Don't forget to send me something about what you are doing with your life.
Or if you have some news about anotherone of our brothers, send it along. I will print 2nd hand news also :-)

BROTHER RICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for not responding after your last e-mail to me ... life has been very hectic here in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where I am currently employed as President of Arkansas Aluminum Alloys, Inc. - one of thelargest independent secondary aluminum smelters in the country.

We have 175 employees and produce 12-14 million lbs./month ofspecification
aluminum alloys for the die casting industry.

Patsy and I will be celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary in July and I will celebrate my 30th anniversary since graduating from MC in the class of 1976. Can you believe it?? I have two grown girls - Sarah graduated from Ohio University in 2005 and is attending graduate school in Industrial/OrganizationalPsychology at the University of New Haven (CT); Sarah also is doing work study and is an intern in the HR department at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury.

Megan is a 2005 graduate of Lakeside HS here in Hot Springs and is attending UConn as a Presidential scholar. Megan is playing volleyball for UConn and is working as a research associate in the Kinesiology department - she is preparing for medical school in the field of Sports Medicine. She recently joined Alpha Beta Epsilon(biology honors) coed fraternity.

With both kids in CT, I don't believe I will have the chance to attend homecoming this year but I will make certain to return to MC for the chapter's 40th ... please keep me posted as the details come together for this momentous event.

Best regards,

Richard

That's all I have this time, hope to see all of you at the golf outing. I know that I (and several others) owe the chapter for spring pledges, when I get back I'll let you know how much was raised.

Good Morining everyone!

Well it has been a while since I have written, time has really flown by this past weekend with my brackets being blown to smithereens!

Gosh have there been some upsets or what? But now I have a couple of days to do other things, like go to spring training baseball games (that's today!)

Well there is only a month to go for the golf outing, April 22nd. I'm starting to get excited to go home and see all of you.

I even got lucky, my airline tickets were only $187.00 round trip. I expected to pay more with all the talk about gas prices going up. So there is no excuse for the rest of you!

The price for the outing, in case you didn't know, is $50. And it will be at the Golf Club of WV, in Waverly. Right by the Jungle Drive In (which has been in operationsince 1952 - the owners told me that last summer when I went there).

I've been asking for you to send me short little stories as towhat you have been up to since college for your brothers.

I've gottensome, and passed them along. But nothing lately, so I'm going to tell a story about my Big Brother, Darrell Pritchard (forgive me Pritch).

Darrell and I met (we think) in first grade. Then fell out of touch until I pledged in '70. He was still a pledge also but from theprevious year. And he activated before I did (I think), so I chose him as my Big. We have stayed in touch through the years and live in the same town now.

So here is his story.

Darrell has taken the "other road" since he graduated. He wasn't happy in Marietta and really had no place that he needed to be, so he remembered a trip through the west he made while in high school, and how much he liked the Tucson area, so he loaded up his motorcycle and moved to Tucson.

When he got here, after working several management type jobs and not really liking any of them (he says that the best thing that came out of those years was Lori, his wife of over 20 years), he decided that the reason that he came to Tucson was the weather, so he was going to be outside and enjoy it.

So he decided that he would become a carpenter, which he did for several years until he became the father of 2 boys. So he and Lori swapped the "traditional" roles, she became the professional and worked the days while Darrell went to work atKmart as a night stocker and stayed home with the boys during the day. It was a role that he enjoyed immensely, going to the park ... all of that.

When the boys got old enough for school, he continued working nights but started his own contracting business during the day, and yet still allow him to be home when the boys got there.

When the boys got older and didn't need him to be home when they got home from school, Darrell quit the job at Kmart (nights get old after a while, and they were old for him!) and got a job with the school board in maintence which befit his experience in carpentry, and "got me a position that would help pay for my retirement". That'swhere he is now.

All through the years here in Tucson, Darrell has continue to run, something he did in college (cross country), he says that he MAY have been the Delts' first jock. He has always said that running is something that he does to relax himself, and he misses that he can'tdo it anymore, due to the cartilage in his knee just being worn out.

That's Darrell's story, from my mouth. Hope I didn't make him mad with it.

The rest of you, send me in something so I can share itwith the rest of us. And start to think about something to share forthe 40th anninversary of the chapter (2008), as I'm going to suggest to Shawn Selby that he consider a section like that on everyone of us (400 strong now).

See you at the golf outing next month. And in 2008, for the anniversary.

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #13

Well I did it, I cut out the names of the bad addresses that I have been receiving on a regular basis.

I also cut out the addresses of the undergrads that were using the college web addresses. This was at the request of the undergraduates.

Please, when you change email addresses, as we all sometimes do, let me know so I can update you.

I am going to list the names of those that I had the bad addresses for. If any of you are in contact with them, please ask them to provide me with a correct email address. Also, thanks to Hunter Jonsson at the chapter, I got several new addresses, to those of you that are new - welcome.

I sent the current, correct (I hope) address list to the undergrads so they could update the alum address list on the chapter website. So when you need/want to contact that classmate you can look there, or contact me and I will send it to youif I have it.

Would it be helpful to you all if I was to attach alist of the addresses that I have? If interested, let me know.

As you all know now, the golf outing is scheduled on April 22. It will be at the Golf Club of WV in Waverly. The same place we held it last year (in the freezing rain!). We did have a decent turnout last year even with the bad weather, 13 of us started and about 1/2 actually finished the course. The rest of us were wimps and quit after 9 holes. The cost will be $50.00 each. That will include thegreen fees, cart, and prizes.

I have been told that information will be forthcoming in the next issue of the Protomi, which if you haven't seen, I highly recommend that you check it out. The address is: www.marietta.edu/~delts

I have a room at the Comfort Inn for the weekend and they have an indoor pool, if you all are interested, perhaps we could have anevening at pool side. Let me know when we hit town.

As I told you last email, BAM sent an email to the chapter correcting the history of the chapter that is on the website, and sending a note to Ken Kavula about updating the chapter about the early history. I was told that Ken has gotten in touch with the chapter, and they are in the process of picking his memory about the early days, which they intend to share with us in upcoming issues ofthe Protimoi.

Speaking of the Protimoi, the chapter corresponding chairman is Hunter Jonsson, who is a junior so we will have his expertise in communicating with us for another 2 years, has made a pledge to be prompter on the publication of the Protimoi, and said "feel free to harass me if I slack off" which I promised him I would not hesitate to do.

Also, if there is something that you would like to see included in future issues of the Protimoi, be sure to let Hunter know at the chapter email address: delts@marietta.edu

Here is the list of the brothers I deleted from my address book. Help me out here, please.

Also with any other brothers you are in contact with that aren't getting this.

This brings to mind the fact that for a limited time we had Little Sisters. If you are in contact with them, and they would like to be included, let me know.

The List:

Scott Gilmore, Jason Honey, Ken Kavula, Richard Ptak, William Elliott, Michael Simmons, Jeff Stern, Greg Vanderlay, Rob Wiedenfeld, TimParsons, Joseph Wood, Keith Zak, and Matthew Mancall.

Please help me find these guys and all the rest, and if your name is here, all I can say is "oops."

Hope to see all of you at the golf outing. Be sure to mark your calendars, the 40th anniversary is in 2008.

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #12

Hello everybody,

This email was supposed to be the one to let you all know about the bad addresses that I have and am preparing to delete, but that will have to wait till the next time.

With that in mind, I would like to remind all of you to forward this to any brother that isn't listed in the addresses. In fact, please send it to every Delt that you are incontact with.

This one is special, in my opinion. Today we receivedan email from Craig Sundstrom, the new chapter President, commenting on the "Delt Pledge" email of earlier in the week (an excellent email Craig!).

Craig has further defined what the chapter wishes to do with any money that they recieve from the "Delt Pledge" of earlier in the week. After you read his email, I hope that you will give serious consideration to making a pledge. You can make that pledge here, through me, or by going to the chapter email address: Delts@marietta.edu and do it that way.

If you choose to do it through me and this eletter, I will let them know for you. And if you choose to make the pledge through the chapter email address, please cc to me so I can keep track and let all of you know as we go on.

Attached to that email was a link to the Protomi (the alumni page). Please, if you got that email, check out the link to the Protomi. It is excellent (and I don't say that just because my picture is in it! - Gosh, how is it possible for one person to change so much, just overnight?!!). I really believe that if DTD has an award for excellence in a publication, that will win it. Great job toyou, Hunter!

If you are taking suggestions for an alum to feature next time, I suggest Shawn Selby. In fact, I think that it would be a good idea to feature an alum from a different era in each issue (but I bet you have already decided to do that!)

If you didn't receive that email, let me know and I will forward it to you.

One thing that was included in the Protomi was the date of the golf tournement. It will be on April 22, with the chapter formal that evening. Also they will be having the Rite of Iris and the spring Ritual on the 23rd. All alums are invited to attend.

Also today, I received an email from Bruce Miller (the ORIGINAL ... BAM) He decided to make a pledge for the "Delt Pledge"drive. And below is his letter to the chapter that he graciously forwarded to me so I could forward it to you.

That's all I have this time, have a good weekend.
Rick Neel '73

Good Morning Delts!

Rick Neel suggested I take a look at your updated website, and I must say it is much improved. I've also been impressed with the recent communications I've received indicating your continuing successes.

I did, however, note a glaring error in the Chapter history. I am listed with Tom Robinson as one of the initial group that led to the formation of BDE. Actually it was Ken Kavula & Tom who were the prime instigators. Though I was a member of BDE, Crescent Colony, and eventually served as Delt chapter president and then chapter advisor, I should not be credited as one of the founders.

I've sent Ken a note asking that he send you more details of those early meetings. I don't think any of us ever imagined we would have a Chapter withmore than 400 alumni. You should all be proud of your accomplishments. It's doubtful that I'll make it to Homecoming this fall. I am, however, happy to pledge $20 for every man you takeduring this semester's rush.

Good Luck!

Fraternally,

Hello everyone,

I have an article that I copied from the MC website today.

It is quite an accomplishment for one of our brothers. Bob Peterson is going to be in Marietta for a stint with the McDonough LeadershipCenter. The article is posted below.

It's another reason to come to Marietta for homecoming, to renew acquaintences with Bob or meet himfor the first time.

I also want to remind you all to please forward this on to any brothers that aren't getting it, so perhaps they will send me their email address so I can include them.

I learned recently that Al Morrison wasn't getting these, even though I KNOW that I have the correct address for him, and I wasn't getting them kicked back to me. So that is probably happening to others that I'm not aware of.

If you enjoy getting these, pass them on. Thanks.

Also, I have some bad addresses, ones that get refused every time I send these out, I will be deleteing them from the address book in the next few days. I'll make a list of them and post it the next time so you can help me get correct addresses.

I have been informed that the Delt web site will soon have itsfirst issue of Protimoi (that must be Greek for "Alumni Newsletter") posted on its site. Please check it out. The Delt website is: www.marietta.edu/~Delts or if that doesn't work then try: www.marietta.edu and go to the Student Life section.

You may want tocheck out the MC site also, it has an alumni email directory and message board.

Here is the article about Bob Peterson, hope you enjoy it. Untilthe next time, keep sending me the updates on your life to share with everyone. I'll see you at the golf outing.

Robert (Bob) E. Peterson, president of the Wickaboag Consulting Group, is joining the McDonough Center for Leadership and Businessfaculty as Executive-in-Residence for the fall 2006 semester.

Peterson, a 1976 graduate of Marietta College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media, will be on campus for two weeks during the fallto lead an experiential project involving competing teams that willselect local companies, study them, develop a marketing communications strategic plan, and produce a communication program. The students will be chosen this spring and divided into groups tobegin preliminary work assigned by Peterson.

During his two-week stay in the fall, Peterson will provide leadership to the teams. A faculty panel led by Peterson will choose the winners of the competition."We were looking for a business leader with vast internationalexperience who could explore leadership from an interdisciplinary perspective," said Dr. Gama Perruci, Dean of the McDonough Center."Mr. Peterson is perfect for this focus. He will bring marketing, management, communications and organizational leadership together in exciting new ways. He is also very enthusiastic about providing students with hands-on experiences. We are looking forward to his contribution to the McDonough Center and its leadership curriculum."

He becomes the second participant in the Executive program. Henry Jelinek '68 was the initial Executive in Residence during the fall of2004.The Executive-in-Residence Program at the McDonough Center allows asenior executive from a major business enterprise to spend ameaningful period of time on campus interacting with students andfaculty. The Executive-in-Residence shares his/her own perspective on leadership — drawn from his/her experience in the business world. In turn, students and faculty have an opportunity to gain their own insights through their interaction with the Executive-in-Residence.

Hello everyone,

Well, the chapter is back up and operating again. Winter breakis over. Have a great spring semester Delts. Make some news thatwill make us proud!

In fact, now that I think about it, having another Hugh Shields award would be a really wonderful thing to beable to show off for our 40th anniversary. Why don't you guys do thatfor the chapter? Be a nice award for the excellent past few yearsthat you have strung together.

What did you think, was that a great email from Shawn Selby or not? I thought it was, and he sure presented a bunch of pretty good ideas for the chapter (both alumni and undergraduates) to consider.
I suspect that if his ideas aren't what people want to do, they surelywill spark many new ideas from a lot of people. I personally liked his idea that a lot of the things for the 40th anniversary (that's in2008 by the way!) need to be worked on by both the undergrads and thealumni in concert.

I didn't like the fact that he feels that I can't write (kidding there, I know I can't, but I try and will continue to try!).

Another thing that Shawn accomplished that I like, is he got MattDole to respond, so I will include his response below. I wasn't awarethat it was pick on Matt day though ... I missed it, darn it. I think that Matt is a pretty special person in EU history. He was thepresident during some pretty rough days. There was some doubt as tothe chapter making it or having to fold.

With the help of some alums, Fergie, Matt, and the few brothers we had, the chapter came back. And came back strong. If you are interested in that story, contact Hartsy, Matt, and/or Fergie.

Speaking of stories, if you didn't get Shawn's email because itwas too long, or some other reason, let me know and I'll forward it to you.

I haven't heard about the golf outing yet, when I do, I'll let you know.

Now for the Dole response to Shawn. It's good to hear from you Matt, see you at the golf outing ...

Rick:

THIS is my correct email address. matt@msdonline.net. Any other email addresses anyone may have for me can be thrown away.

My goal has been to stay three steps ahead of the Bush Administration's domestic surrveillance, which while completely legal and helpful to our homeland is scary to me. I would rather not have the CIA or NSAknow just how many of the "If you love Jesus, you will forward this to ten friends" emails that I send.

In addition, I hope to keep my business relationship with the sister of the Emir of Albania a secret until she does indeed deposit my share of the $12 million she is "investing" forher brother into my bank account which I provided the numbers for long ago.

Secondly, If Selby is going to start throwing punches, I figure I better get involved officially, rather than through the grapevine. Selby says there weren't any alumni when he first graduated, well there weren't any UNDERGRADS when I graduated, thus the Matt Dole show for a coupleyears there.

Actually, there was a small but great group of guys. They were not "eaten," they were just standing behind me. Honestly, that is a lie as well - but I can bring the fat jokes too - the small core of undergrads were in class, and I never had that much use forthe "class" part of college, so I just hung around the guestbookwaiting for an alum to offer to buy dinner. (and boy did I wait ...)

Actually, we are heading into the 5th reunion of graduation this year (a bit of a shiver typing that), and I am glad to say there is a good group of us still talking and getting together whenever possible. I work for Trent Elliott and his father now, and Trevor Brown and Brian Wolfe are up the road in Cambridge, Ohio.

We used to play poker on aregular basis but then we realized that Wolfie cheats, so we don't do that as much anymore. (plus Wolfie is a Steelers fan, and who really wants tohang around a Steelers fan right now?)

Matt Joy is still inWilliamstown, He (I guess his wife had a hand in it as well) had his second child who they named Josh just before Christmas. Jeremy "Jake"Dornon used to be here, but he moved to Roanoke, Va., to get rich. We don't expect to see him again, because he is the type of guy who will definitely forget the little people when he makes it big time. Oddly when that group of guys get together we still have a quorum to do business at EU per membership in 2000.

Nowadays we normally bestow greek freak on Wolfie and leave TheWhoPutTheHoleInTheWall/GoToClassFergieReport stuff to the undergrads. I am glad to see so many DTDers on this email chain, and I lookforward to a great
2006, and beyond.

If you or anyone on the list happens through Marietta, give me a jingle, excuses for hitting downtown are always appreciated.

Rickus Interruptus: Shawn Selby '92 "replies all"

Hello Brothers — Undergrad and Alumni.

Greetings, from Detroit — the home of Super Bowl XL. The building I work in is right across the highway from Ford Field and the view from my office is the stadium itself. The excitement around here is feverish, and Motown is going all out for the Big Game.

Please forgive what may be the longish nature of this email, but I promised Rick MONTHS ago I would write something. So here goes:

Thoughts on Homecoming 2005

This was my first visit back since Homecoming 2000. One of the reasons I had stopped going back was that during the 1998, 1999 and 2000 Homecomings, we never, EVER saw any actual UNDERGRAD Delts. Except for Matt Dole. We came to believe that there were no other undergrads, just Dole. We had a theory that there once had been undergrad Delts, but Dole had eaten them.

But this year was different. Lots of undergrads. There's about 257 of them, I think. I didn't meet all the undergrads, but I enjoyed meeting those that I did, except for maybe Jonathan McEldowney. It was also great seeing my fellow alumni, except for maybe Dan Moorman.

Gib and I got to spent some time hanging out with undergrads Will Kauff and Dave Borrelli, and that was really cool. I also had a chance to get to know Goose Kitson, who is a one of my Little Brother descendants. And I was please that the line descending from him has split in two.

Shorter message to the Undergrads: We alumni don't just come back to see other alumni. We come to see the undergrads, too.

Side note to the alumni: God, you people are looking so old! Except for Hartsy, who looks younger now than when he was an undergrad. And me, of course. I still look like I'm 25, just barely older than the undergrads .... I SAID I STILL LOOK LIKE I'M 25!!!!

Ideas for Homecoming 2006

Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, we didn't have a lot of alumni visitors for Homecoming. But that was because we didn't have a lot of alumni. When I initiated in 1989, I was the 200th Delt initiated at EU.

At that point, the chapter was barely 20-years-old and had less than 170 alumni (there were some lean years in the late 1970s and early 1980s; it is amazing the chapter survived).

But we went all out anyway, hoping we'd get more than just a handful of recent graduates visiting us. A key aspect was that we were required to be at the Shelter when not obligated for other activities, whether we lived there or not, and to be downstairs to meet and greet alumni (whether they showed up or not).

Times have changed. There's now upwards of 400 alumni. You now have the resource that we lacked and really wanted — alumni. Treat us well. Make us feel welcomed. Give us something to do.

In fact, think of Homecoming as "Rush for Alumni." Use the same skills that you do to get pledges.

Don't just hide in your rooms. We aren't gonna go up there looking for you all. None of us want to visit rooms that smell like someone's cooking socks and jock straps. Well, most of us don't.

Putting out a guestbook Friday afternoon to sign and then playing football with us (well, some of us) on Sunday isn't much of an activity schedule. (Yes, we kept busy all weekend doing our own things, but give us a reason to come down to the house at certain times.)

I'd like to see the undergrads stage a performance of one of the public rituals. It will allow the alumni to reconnect with THE RITUAL and remind us of what being a Delt is all about. And it also gives our spouses, significant others and guests a glimpse into this part of our lives.

And it puts alumni and undergrads in the same room and provides opportunity for interaction.

Yes, dealing with us alumni can be a pain in the ass. But remember, you are undergrads for four years — except for maybe McEldowney — but you'll be alumni for the rest of your lives.

Make yourselves available to get to know us, and to hang out with us. For those of you who are of age, go downtown with us. Let us buy you drinks. Among the pantheon of great memories that I have from DTD are some that I spent hanging out (and drinking) with alumni. Open yourselves up to those experiences. Allow yourselves to make memories of fun with alumni.

Shorter message to the Undergrads: Give us something to do, preferably involving interaction with the undergrads.

Web site

The undergrads have done a great job redesigning the chapter Web site and updating the content. Visit it here at http://www.marietta.edu/~delts/ if you haven't seen it already.

Some advice to the undergrads:

1. In the roster of undgrads, include where you are from and tell us your campus activities. That gives us a better picture of who you are than just your name, class year and major.

2. A picture isn't always worth a thousand words. Write captions for all of your photos. We like looking at photos, but we don't know who is in them or what is going on. Be descriptive, tell us who is in the picture, what they are doing and where they are doing it at.

Shorter message to the Undergrads: Your Web site is a tool to help the alumni be connected with you.

Alumni information and relations therewith

The chapter Web site has a section on alumni, and on that page the undergrads are seeking advice from us about what kind of content it should have.

I'm not of the mind that they should be producing alumni content. I think that is our obligation. We should take that off their hands. They have enough to do.

This is a conversation that we need to have among ourselves. I'm willing step up on this issue, in terms of helping to provide content.

I assume that the chapter still has a director of alumni relations. Again, that's an area that I think we need to be providing the leadership on. Perhaps House Corps should appoint an alumni director of alumni relations (a better title will have to be arrived at) to work with the undergrads on alumni relations. I would volunteer, but I live six hours away. This should be someone who is a lot closer to Marietta. But I throw this out in the hopes that we'll talk about it.

Thoughts on the 40th

After the 30th anniversary, then-Chapter President Matt Dole and I produced a very large special issue of the newsletter celebrating the 30th. It was a good example of an undergrad-alumni project.

We should do the same thing this year, except that we should produce a joint publication before the annivesary to spark attendence for the celebration. We should then follow up with another publication celebrating the event.

If you'll have me, I'll step up and do that. If not, go to hell. Just kidding.

I also have mentally designed a poster based on the Big Brother/Little Brother board. It would be a color, glossy commemorative item that we could sell to cover the cost and to make some money on. I am willing to step up and do this too, but I'd like House Corps and the Chapter to greenlight it. If OK'd, I would need an undergrad to assist.

Final thoughts (Rick Neel is a Delt God)

If you've stayed with me this far, congratulations. You are doing better than me. I mentally checked out after the first five paragraphs of this email.

When I first met Rick at Homecoming, I made fun of him for his series of disjointed emails that he had sent out before Homecoming. But after talking with him, I gained an appreciation of what he's trying to do and for his enthusiasm for building excitement for the Chapter and for the 40th.

His enthusiasm is contagious. Keep up the good work, Rick. I have your back.

Hope to see you all at the Golf Outing,

Shawn "Sluggo" Selby, '92

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #9

Hello everyone,

Writing today is going to be a real pleasure because of a note that I received a week or so ago. It makes me very happy to be doing this. Kurt Kleefield sent me the note that is at the bottom of this email. Thanks Kurt, you really made my day. On top of getting Kurt's email, I got one that gave me a new address.

Kurt, I think that I heard that last year or so, the chapter had a formal meeting duing homecoming or something (perhaps it was an initiation). Check with the chapter.

Dave Broome '88 sent me his address to add to our list. It is: dlbroome01@yahoo.com for all of his buddies drop him a line. From me, welcome Dave.

I also heard from GooSe, the social chairman at the house about the golf outing. He said that he would be back on campus the 29th of January and meet with some of the brothers and come up with the dates. So until the 29th ...

Interesting news from the undergrads this year, they got 6 weeks off for Christmas break, and GooSe for one seems to feel that is too long. So they haven't sent me anything for a long time. Hope that they enjoyed the time. Soon they'll only get 2 weeks in a year! :-)

I want to let you all know that the Delt website appears to be completed and it is pretty good. The alumni section has a list of email addresses so you can get back in contact with the guys from your years. Go check it out and correct your address if it is wrong. You can access it through the Marietta College site www.marietta.edu and then go to the student life area. Just to let you know, there are now 170 addresses in my address book! Pretty good I think, some of them are not good, but not that many.

Keep the life updates coming in so I can post them. For the times that I don't get any, I know some stories about a few of you and I'll make something up. Look out Jim Neel, Darrell Pritchard, Al Morrison. Fair warning to you 3 at least. :-)

I guess that is about all I have for now. Have a good week.

Rick Neel '73

Hello!

I have to be honest, I haven't even thought Delt in a number of years, but am increasingly excited to see these updates and news. I've never enjoyed golfing, so I won't see you there- but I am interested in connecting with some delts from EU. So, I'll give a quick description of my last decade if you want to send that out, or save it from another newsletter.

Since graduatijng, I have taught 4th grade students in inner city Cleveland, OH, 3-12 grade students in rural New Hampshire, 9-12 grade chemistry to students at risk in Natick, MA and most recently 5-8 graders in Marlborough, MA.

I have earned a Master's in Educational Leadership at Keene State College in NH. My most salient accomplishments, though are my wife Sarah, who I married last August - in my party was Emmett (Claribell) Russell '97.

Since then I adopted our daughter Dakota who is now 5, and we've had a son, Maxwell, who is now 6 months. We're looking for a new place to settle roots, and that will probably be in PA or upstate NY.

I continue to collect Monopoly games and have a fairly substantial collection of about 900 games.

Some of my fondest memories from college come from 219 4th St., like building the Andrews Hall Homecoming float with a raisable tower, building our pledge wheel at Chad Rhodes' father's place, painting the back room, Thanksgiving dinners, the pledge prank of filling Dean Kilton and Scott Francis's room with styrofoam peanuts, stickball in the parking lot, the pissing boy fountain and sea mural downstairs, serenading the Alpha Xi's and getting invited to the taboo upstairs, pumpkin carolling on the President's lawn, Greek Week olympics, upon Emmett's initiation as President, hearing him recite a line backwards, retreat at Jess Raine's bank, etc...

I would like to make it back to a Homecoming, possibly the tenth is a good one - coming up next year in 2007. I hope EU does something for its brotherhood - I'd love to be a part of ritual once again, if only for a day.

Thanks for the updates.
Best,
Kurt (Chi-Chi) Kleefeld

Well here we go again,

As promised, I have another update from a brother. He is Rich Kramer, a former chapter President as I recall.

It sounds as if he has been pretty successful and might be a person to talk to if somebody has any interest in starting his own business. Make note of his email address.

See you in Marietta soon, Rich!

Please send anything of interest to me for posting. Remember, it may be boring to you but your friends will be interested in hearing from you.

Hello Rick and Brothers,

Just a quick note to let you know that Nancy (Dow) '74 and I are alive and well in the great white north of New Hampshire. I will try to make my 30 years since graduation at MC as painless as possible.

After grad, I went to work for Hill's Department Stores. After a couple of years of 80 hour weeks, months on the road and being chased around the store by the executive senior VP of Operations' daughter, a management trainee herself, it was a sure sign that I had no long term future unless I wanted to become a gigolo in training! So off to Nancy's homeland, New Hampshire. There after several months of needed sleep, I started my own retail business which expanded into 3 stores and went on for the next 22 years until Tandy corporation made me an offer I could not refuse in 1999.

Beginning in 1997 and until the present, I have become a graduate business school professor. Actually, an adjunct professor but I work for slave wages and a title. I've taught 74 courses to date and teach at Franklin Pierce College and New England College. Education is big on titles and short on cash! But the speed of work is great. It really is one of the best jobs in the world.

Along the way, Nancy and I adopted two children in 1984 , ages 6 and 7 at the time. Today they will be 29 and 30 this coming March and April. We feel very, very OLD! My daughter has given me 3 grandchildren two boys, about to be 6 and 8 and one girl just a year old. My son just got married this past summer to a real "fine" young lady from Vermont. She wants to be an elementary school teacher and she really is good with kids. I suppose my Christmas shopping list will grow exponentially over the coming years?

Nancy has had a great career haul in accounting, education, healthcare and now government. She has been a really great partner and yes as they use to say on the sitcom In Living Color "and we still together after all these years," 30 to be precise. Nauseating, isn't it.

Well, I'm glad to see that you Rick are trying to bring the Mod Squad back together for our 40th reunion. Maybe we should have a contest to see who can still throw the football through the tire hanging from a tree like Mike Ditka!

I remember at the 25th reunion looking towards the back of the Lafayette Hotel and seeing more faces than I thought possible. DTD may not have been "coolest" house on campus during it's past 40 years, but by far it was the most fun and I'm sure brings many fond memories to mind to most of it's members, past and present!

So let's hear from the rest of you. Time waits for no man as Rick pointed out with the passing of two of our founding brothers. Maybe Randy "Awk" Williams can update one of his famous study table lectures for the preretirement brothers? Possible topic: Viagra, friend or Delt menace?

Hello everybody,

Hope that you all had a Great Holiday season and that no one got a skinned up nose as a result of New Years Eve. :-)

I have gotten a couple of email from some brothers with an update on how thier lives are going. One is fairly long so I will break them up and send them in 2 emails. I also got something from Bob Exten that is positive news from a celebrity for a change. Knowing that some of you are using a work email address, I am sending an attachment with it. My computer shows no virus attached to it, FWIW. If you can't, or don't wish to get attachments with these letters, please let me know.

Remember, that the last weekend in April is the Golf Outing. If you can, keep that weekend open. I'm not sure what the cost is going to be, but as information is passed to me I will send it on.

Here is the life update that I received from Don Wolfe. Hope that it motivates you to send something about yourself to share. I'll send the other one in a little while. Have a good 2006.

Rick Neel '73.

Hi Rick,

In 1997 I moved from Georgia to Colorado to work for Bell Labs writing embedded software at the Denver Works. It was a good job until they off-shored my project to Shanghai.

After that I spent a year substitute teaching, refereeing youth soccer, and just hanging out. Then I spent a year teaching high school computer science. Then I moved to Nebraska to be the data-systems support guy for a medium size car dealership (four locations in the Nebraska panhandle plus one in northern Colorado). Part of the reason for that was the rural location, a different high school for my son (he's a senior now), and just change for the sake of change.

Earlier this year the owner fired his back-office manager and asked me to do that job. So I am now the office controller, but it takes a lot of time and I may be looking for something else to do after Alexander graduates in the spring. Teaching college sounds good to me, but I don't know if I can land a position without any real publications to my credit :-(

What are you doing?

Hi to all of you,
Well I don't have any news from any of you this time, so I can't include any of that. Any news that anyone has that they would like to be shared, let me know.

I still have the pictures, but have been too lazy to get them downloaded to the computer. Maybe on my next day off.

Let's see what is here for me to share with> you....

Well, the chapter has elected its officers for the next year. I won't list them, if interested e-mail me and I'll send the names to you. I got them from reading the minutes from the chapter meetings. If anyone is interested in getting them, the secretary, Ashley Wollem told me that he would be happy to put you on the mailing list. Just contact him at: **removed for privacy reasons**

I see that in my homecoming messages I forgot to mention something. During the house corp meeting the undergrads reported that they needed some new ritual equipment. There was no request made to house corp to help with this, it was just a need that was reported. Anyone that is interested in this issue, can contact Hartsy and I'm sure he will give you any information he can. Yesterday, the 13th, the chapter had activation of pledges. They activated 10 men into the brotherhood. Congratulations to the new actives.

In reviewing the meeting notes of the last 3 weeks, I discovered that the website is being updated, and the Alumni section will be Awesome. This is a quote from the meeting notes... Can't wait.

I see that the chapter has some interesting committees, one of them is the "I hate Tom Brady" committee. The committee report from that one appears to be the same every week. "I hate Tom Brady" That couldn't be because he graduated from Michigan could it? And has won a Super Bowl or 2? Then they have a place for Nude Business. There hasn't been any nude news to report in the minutes I have read. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Depends on who is nude I guess. I have another name or two for this email list, we are up to 102 now. That is pretty good I think. And still a couple of years before homecoming 2008. I hope that everyone has a good Thanksgiving.

I'll be back.

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #4

Hi Guys,
Well I'm home. Had a wonderful time in Marietta, but the undergrads didn't do too well as far as keeping it warm. It was damp and rainy most of the weekend and snowing on Tuesday as I was headed back to Columbus to catch my plane. In fact, on one overpass it was evidently frozen and I spun out. Did about 5 donuts and nearly hit a light pole. Such wonderful times are had in the cold!

So let's see what can I report from my trip? I got to meet a lot of the guys. About 30 alumni were there and I met most of the undergrads, some again and some for the first time. I got to attend a house meeting on Sunday night, more on that later.

Marietta won the homecoming football game, beating Muskingum College as time expired, capping a furious comeback. I didn't make the game, because it was too cold for this southern boy. Jordan did win the award for homecoming King, giving the Delts 4 in a row! Congratulations Jordan.

During the house corp meeting that followed the parade, I learned quite a bit. One thing that we heard, is the college has been given a 10 million dollar pledge for a new library. So I'm sure that the college will be contacting you for a donation to help with the cost. If you are interested in reading more about that, check the college web site; www.marietta.edu/ there is an article on the homepage. Also there, you can see a picture of Jordan in his crown :-). We got a scoop on this from Brian Rothenberg who is a member of the Alumni Association. This fund raising campaign may put the issue of our shelter on the back burner for a little while, giving us more time to come up with a game plan for out house replacement.

Last year, the fraternity learned that our shelter is not on the college 5 year plan, so we will be relocating for the 3rd time in our history. When members of DTD International, the House Corp, and the undergraduate chapter met with the college, everyone came away with the feeling that the college was open to working with us to replace our house. The college sent in a professional inspector to determine if the house was worth saving, his opinion was that it isn't. I learned that there are several options available to us and that the International is able to help with financing. We can go with college building, our building, a combination of both, or perhaps something different. We can go with a dorm style living (probably the college preference), a house style residence (probably the undergrad preference), a combo layout (something combining the features of both. Or a house in the front, and dorm style behind, with the fraternity occupying the beds it is able to fill and the college using the rest for dorm space). Hartsy and the committee that is set up to work on this will undoubtedly be contacting you for your feelings and any input you may have. An interesting aside on the housing issue, on campus now housing is priced based on where you choose to live. For instance, Parsons hall is the cheapest place on campus to live. McCoy hall is the most expensive, and Fayerweather is screwed up! There, the apartments are cheaper than the doubles. Doesn't seem to make much sense. And I didn't inquire as to the cost of living in the Delt house (that was pretty dumb, I guess!).

The undergrads reported that they are involved in an official fraternity program, called "Adopt-a-school" where they are sending at least 3 brothers per day to Marietta Middle School (for those who don't remember, it is at the top of the hill at 7th and Putnam). They say it is going very well and the brothers are enjoying helping at the school. Speaking of school, the brothers GPA is 2.9 and they are disappointed in having it that low (I personally would have been ecstatic with a 2.9!) They are second on campus among the men's groups. For those brothers who have grades under a C+, they have study hours that have to be verified, 2 hours per week additional study per grade that is less than a C+. And should a brother's GPA fall below a 2.25, they are placed on social probation until they get the grades up. Bravo!

The population of the college now is approaching 1300 and the goal is 1500. I understand that the college turned some applicants away this year because of a fear that they are growing too fast. And the number of Delts are 46. 31 actives, 15 pledges. With only 5 graduating this year. We count among our members some athletes (football, track, soccer are ones that I heard mentioned), 9 of the 10 RA's are Delts, and we hold 7 positions in student government. So the chapter is involved in about everything on campus. With 46 members there are a bunch of diverse personalities all of whom get along, that was a good thing to see.

Back to the chapter meeting that I got to sit in on. it was the normal meeting that you remember, committee reports, old business, new business (and the usual laughter and BS that goes on during house meetings). So I only feel the need to comment on a few things. One was the "Greek Freak and Greek God" awards. Those are about what you might think and showed the ability to laugh at themselves and being able to praise those brothers who had done something good., I liked that part of the meeting. Another part of the meeting that I found positive was the ending, where the brothers all went into the street in front of the house and gave a cheer (for this Fergie had Hartsy and me included, in the middle of the huddle with 40+ screaming brothers gathered around us, boy was that loud!) of course in Marietta at 8:00 pm on a Sunday night there was no traffic :-). The most impressive part of the meeting to me was "the candle pass." I understand that this isn't a weekly part of the meeting, just when it is needed. The lights are turned off, a candle lit, and every brother in attendance is given the opportunity to say what is on their minds, as far as they personally feel about the fraternity and themselves. I was very impressed by this, not only the honest expression of thought, but also the attention that the other brothers paid to what was being said. I thought that was a good way to clear the air about what brothers were feeling. Much better than letting things fester.

I got a bunch of new addresses while I was there, and several new people contacted me directly, we have over 100 addresses now so check them out. Please continue to forward this on to brothers who aren't on the list. I did get some more comments from brothers and I will post them the next time. I did get some pictures and I see a way to post them to this, so I will when I get them downloaded.

I do have some sad news to pass along. One of our founders, Tom Robinson, has passed away. Evidently, he died 2 or 3 years ago and I don't know what the cause was. I knew Tom slightly as he was either a senior, or a graduate when I pledged, so if anyone can give me any information, I will pass it on.

That's enough for now, hope that it isn't too long. Remember the 40th is coming in 2008! Shawn Selby has already told me that he will be looking for people to help him put together a history for that one. He says that he will want 2 or 3 from each decade, one early, one mid, and one late, to hunt up stories for the history. Start thinking.

Later, Rick Neel '73

Here is the 2nd part of #4

Hi guys,

Sorry about the last oops! Anyway, I have received a bunch of grief about my last email (OK, it actually was just Fergie :-) ) since I forgot to mention the score of the REAL homecoming football game. So here is what happened, the undergrads finished next to last while the alumni finished in 2nd place. The final score was Undergrads 8 touchdowns and the Alumni 3. But really there was cheating going on! After all the undergrads had an unfair advantage (or 3), they were younger, faster, and more athletic. Aside from that, it was a fair game. I have to report that there were no injuries. And everyone had a good time. Congratulations to the Undergrads

I have a message from Chris Goebel:

Rick,
I think we may have met at Fergie's 30th last year. In any case, I can not attend homecoming but it is for a great reason! Over the last 12 years I have volunteered and coached youth football (7th & 8th grade unlimited weight) in Hinsdale Illinois and well.... we are loaded this year. We are undefeated 10 - 0 and we start the playoffs this weekend. So it is an exciting time of the year and hopefully we can win the league and state championship in Dekalb, IL next month! ....know my email is **removed for privacy reasons ** (please no jokes it is a work email but it is the best way to reach me other than the phone)

PS Any of us that graduated in '87 are always looking for any news on our lost brother Jimmy Martinez. Any help tracking him down or news would be appreciated. We have not heard any thing from him in over 12 years!

There is your note Chris, and on another note he asked what he could do to help me. You have done it by including a note on what you are doing. Thanks! And to everyone else, if you know anything about Jimmy Martinez, please let Chris (or me - I'll post it) know.

I also got a message from Tim Cox:

Rick,
Here's my contact info.

Tim Cox
**removed**

If you're ever in the NYC area, look me in!

Fraternally,
Tim Cox ' 99

Well, Tim I just may do that. I have begun to travel a lot more in the last few years. But there are many more of us now. You may be swamped!

One last thing, I seem to have messed up the address that I had for Bill Buzzy, any help would be appreciated. As always, forward this on to any brothers that you don't see on the addresses. And JP, I have been sending these to Ted Smith, but they are being rejected for being too long, so please give them to him.

Till the next time, Rick Neel '73

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #3

Hello everyone,
Homecoming is getting closer and I'm starting to get excited about the chance to see some old friends. And the school, and the TownHouse!

I have received some new addresses in the last week. Thanks to all of you who have passed these emails along. I hope that you have all heard from old friends as a result of these.

The following is from Jon Hartshorn, the president of the House Corp. Thanks for the news Hartsy.

Hi Rick.
I appreciate this effort. It will pay off big time someday, I’m
certain. Already has helped me out personally. A friend I hadn’t
heard from in a few years sent me a message. Keep It Going!!! In other
news: I will be setting up a fund raising committee very soon. We need to
show MC that we can help with a shelter. Right now we are not in the game,
so to speak. They are overwhelmed with the need for housing. I feel
that if we can’t help, we’ll get put into whatever it is they come up with to
house a few hundred more students. I figure there will be a few new dorms,
maybe a “fraternity row” type of location too. Not all bad, but I want to
have something beyond a dorm. I’m sure we all see the benefit to
that.
Hartsy

I've also heard from several other brothers so I'll try to add those emails too. It's too bad that I'm not really knowledgeable about these "new fangled computer things." My step son is always telling me "Damn it Rick, you know how to do that!" But alas, he's wrong I don't. The next one is from Matt Hickman, I just got it this morning. Welcome Matt, thanks for sending your address, and congratulations on the little girl!

Hi Rick -
My name is Matt Hickman and I am also a Delt, MC class of '95. JP
Clowes
forwarded your message to me / please feel free to add me to the
list...

After having lived in Columbus for several years, my wife Becky and I relocated to Charlotte, NC. Early in 2004 we moved back to the Columbus area - changed jobs, built a house, and welcomed our first child into the world - a healthy baby girl, Jillian Eva, who will be one year old on Nov. 27th!

We're hoping to make it down for Homecoming later this month. I've unfortunately lost touch with a lot of people over the years but I did find a few old email addresses to forward your message on to, so hopefully you'll hear from some others...
Thanks!Matt

I also got an email from Lance Koved, and he made me jealous! I have never had the opportunity to see the Stones, sure would like to though. The mention about Kirby is that I got his address and sent the last email to him but he had an automatic block on his address, so I didn't get through to him. Hopefully this one will.

Rick:
Just to let you know, I tried Kirby's address and it worked for me. No reply yet though. Lots of names from the past on your list. It would be nice to catch up with eveyone again but thats a pipe dream.

Went to the rolling stones concert last weekend in Hershey Pa. Absolutely awesome. One of our banks gave me $350 tickets. Well worth it. The crowd was on its feet the whole performance.

Lance, I don't know why we couldn't have that "pipe dream," 2008 is far enough off that people have the time to make plans. Anyway, that is my hope, let me live in my fantasy world for a bit longer. :-)!

I also have heard from Bob Exten, that was nice. Haven't heard from him for a long time. I got notes from JP Clowes (thanks for forwarding these JP), Anthony Fish, Bob Simerlick, and an undergrad; Dan May (see you in a couple of weeks Dan May). I just went and checked my mail and got a note from the Delts, it has homecoming information. And just in case the guys don't have your correct address and you didn't get the newsletter, here is a web site for you; http://www.marietta.edu/~delts Jordan Herrick, the chapter President says that they are making changes to it. Check it out!

He also says that the chapter took 11 pledges in the fall rush. Good going undergrads! That gets the chapter up to 46 men, WOW! I guess that is enough for this time. I hope to see you at homecoming, and I hope that the weather is WARM, us southern boys don't do well in the cold!

Rick Neel '73

Here is the 2nd part of post #3

Hello, this is going to be really short. I just sent out a note to you all. These addresses came back as bad, so if someone could forward them the note on, I would be appreciative.

C.Myers, J.Kirby, M. Dole, and R.Wiedenfeld

I can't believe that I don't have Matt Dole's correct email address, and also, I don't have one for Fergie. Any help in this would be appreciated.

Thanks, Rick

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #2

Hello again fellow Delts,
Well it has been almost a week since I sent my first email, and I have had several responses, for those I thank you. And I have some new addresses that I have added, some because I forgot to put them in the list and a couple of people who contacted me with their addresses because my email had been forwarded to them. I apologize to the first group and say welcome to the 2nd. I have 83 names on my list of Delts, which I consider pretty good, and only 10 or so of the names I started with fell off due to being bad addresses, that's pretty good. I'm not sure if all of the addresses that I have are still active or not, but 83 is a good start. Not good enough though since there are 300 or more Marietta Delts. Please continue to pass this along to other Delts, or send me the addresses. I do know that at least 2 of the messages didn't get through to active mailboxes, and I'm not sure why that happened. I'm not enough of a computer person to understand those things. So I'm just going to keep trying.

My girlfriend, when I told her what I was doing asked me; "What do you hope to accomplish with this?" I replied that was an easy question, I wanted to....and I was stuck. I know what I want to accomplish, but I don't know how to say it. I don't intend this to be a newsletter, but I do want to get news from brothers and pass that news along to the rest.

I live in Tucson Arizona, so I really can't give news of the chapter and college. Besides, that is the job of the actives and the alumni committee. What I do want to do, is hopefully rekindle some friendships each of us had while in college. One thing that I do want to accomplish, and I already did, was make everyone think about DTD and Marietta College for a minute. And all of you who read this did just that. I hope that the memory was pleasant.

My first desire, I formulated in April when we had the golf outing and the honor Fergie weekend. We had a pretty good turnout of Alumni for that occasion, and I had a great time. Though it was freezing cold and raining while we were trying to play golf. My thought was that the 40th anniversary of DTD at Marietta College is coming up. 2008 is the year. That is a pretty special milestone for our chapter. And I would like to make it an anniversary to remember. I wish that there was some way that all 300+ of us could go back and have a GREAT reunion weekend.

My brother, Jim (class of '77?) has alway said, "I joined a group of guys that I liked and got along with, not a national fraternity" and I think that is true of all of us. A national fraternity is a concept that is pretty hard to grasp for a freshman, away from home for the first time. But I try to tell it to him in this way; the 2nd group liked the guys in the first, the 3rd liked those in the first 2, the 4th liked those before them. And on and on. Plus those that were already there weren't likely to attract those who they didn't like. So probably, those of us from the early years aren't all that different from those of us from the later years (except for hair!). I haven't gotten through to him completely yet, but I have told him that I will be dragging him back to Marietta in 2008.

Enough of that, I guess that I should include some news. So here is some:
1) Brownie's Bakery burned down and will not be rebuilt. Brownies was a landmark for a lot of us during the cramming that went on during midterms and finals. I remember many a night walking down there for a couple of donuts as a break from studying. I'm sure that place holds a special place in many a Delts heart.
2) It looks like the Delts will be moving to a new Shelter in the next few years. The foundation of the house on 4th street (by the way that house used to be the AST sorority house) is crumbling and it isn't cost effective to renovate it. Jon Hartshorn (President of the House Corp) tells me that the fraternity and college are in discussions on what kind of living arrangements the fraternity will have. 2008 may be the first year in our new shelter.
3) Homecoming> 2005 is October 21 thru 23. Hope to see you there.

I guess that is enough for this time. Hope I didn't bore anyone. Again, please check the addresses and contact that friend that you haven't heard from in years. Also pass this along to someone and ask that they send me a current email address.

Till next time, Rick Neel '73

Rick Neel: DTD at MC #1

Hello everyone,
My name is Rick Neel and I am a MC Delt from 1973 (undergrads, go look me up on the composites! :-) )

This is the first of a series of emails about DTD at MC. I am aware that several of the addresses that I have are no longer current and that I don't have a lot of the brothers email addresses. You can help me make sure that everyone is getting these emails by sending me any addresses that I don't have, and giving me any corrections that you know of. (You can also see to it that you don't get any in the future by emailing me and letting me know that you would like to be taken off of the list. :-( )

I ask a few of things from you at this point;
1) If the name that I have you listed by isn't the one that most of the brothers from your era know you by, let me know and I will correct it.
2) If there are names of brothers listed that you know, and have thought about, drop them a line and say "Hi" odds are, they are thinking of you also. And finally,
3) Last year, at Fergies 30 year celebration, I spoke to the Alumni chairman about the newsletters. His comment, and I have to admit it made sense, was that it is hard to do an alumni newsletter when the alums don't give any news. So any news that you have that you would like to share with your brothers, send it in. Here is a name and address; Jordan Herrick (chapter president), **removed** And Jordan, I challenge you to make sure that any news you get, gets passed along! We have homecoming coming up near the end of October, and I would like to ask everyone to come to Marietta to celebrate (believe it or not, the football team is doing pretty well). But if you can't, send a reply to me (let me know if you appreciate the effort) with some news and I will take it to Marietta myself. Any of you that are going to be there I'll see you then. Feedback is very much welcome....Rick
